Big Bead Polymer Clay Workshops

1st Class – Saturday, September 10th

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
$40 per student, per class
In the 1st class you will learn the basics of working with polymer clay. How to buy good clay (the brand is not enough!) Conditioning; basic forms and shapes; baking, including safe home-oven baking procedures; and finishing techniques such as accenting with paints and optional sanding. By the end of the 1st class you will have created enough beads to make a really fun and trendy necklace to give as a gift or keep for yourself!
In the 2nd class students will learn how to use an extruder with polymer clay to make a solid or multicolored faux knitting pattern on flat or round objects. You will learn which kinds of extruders are the best for working with polymer clay. After this class, students will be able to create faux knit pendants and beads with or without special tools. They will also be able to create applique style pendants and beads using various cutters.
