Our classes offer you a chance to improve your skills, learn a new project, or even learn how to knit or crochet for the first time from experienced, friendly, and patient teachers. We put our class schedule together with your interests in mind, and we’re happy to hear from you about what classes you would like to see.

WORK WITH US                                                                             Cost: $15 per two-hour session
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 with Laurie and Sunday, April 8th, 15th, 22nd, & 29th from 2:30 – 4:30 with Kristen
Come sit at the table and get professional, personalized help on your individual projects. You must call to reserve your spot each week.

Cost:  $35/hour
Did you know that Jessica Knits offers private instruction? Whether your schedule just doesn’t allow for you to take advantage of our class offerings, or you simply want some one-on-one attention, private lessons give you the flexibility to schedule lessons specifically suited to your needs. We can also pro-rate the hour if necessary, and discounted rates are available for semi-private lessons of two or more people. Ask for details and to arrange your private lesson.

Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Every Thursday night is Knit Night at Jessica Knits and Crochets. Come work on your project and meet new friends in the comfort of the best knit shop in town. The first Thursday of every month is designated as Charity Knit Night – everyone works on pieces for charity giving (we can supply you with ideas, or even supplies to work on that night). All of the other Thursdays in the month are open knit nights, where you can mingle while you work on your favorite Jessica Knits projects.

Technique Classes

Secrets of Pattern Reading with Laurie                                         Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, April 3rd from 10:30 to 12:30
Advanced Beginner
So, you have picked out a new project and purchased your yarn. You are excited to start knitting. But are you really ready to start the project? Do you understand the pattern directions? In this class you will learn the special language of knitting, which uses many abbreviations and terms, to save space and make patterns easier to read.  

Cane Bay Wrap with Viki                                                             Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Thursday, April 5th from 6:00 to 8:00
Advanced Beginner
A wrap with seaside inspired waves of lace. This is a simple wrap with combinations of yarn overs and decreases. It is worked in a gorgeous blend of baby alpaca and merino wool. 

Oops! Now What? with Laurie                                                     Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, April 10th from 10:30 –12:30
Advanced Beginner
We have all been there. That moment that we look at our work and there is something wrong! We panic! Now what? This class will teach you to recognize your mistakes and you will learn to fix them yourself with confidence! 

Ripples and Waves with Laurie                                                    Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Wednesday, April 18th and 25th from 10:30 to 12:30
This is a versatile garment that can be worn two ways, with the Waves up (Lace Collar side up) or with the Ripples up (Lace Collar side down). In this class you will learn the two featured lace patterns and the basic construction. 

The Anemone Hat with Kathy                                                      Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Thursday, April 19th from 1:30 to 3:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, have made several projects and have knit in the round.
If you wear an Anemone Hat, you will have to get used to being stopped by strangers who are smiling at you and want to tell you how much they like your hat. 

Ann Norling Kid’s Fruit Hat with Nancy                                        Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Friday, April 20th from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, and have made several projects.
This little fruit cap is super versatile, as you can change the fruit by changing the color.  It comes in 6 month, one year and two year sizes, with directions for an adult and preemie version. You will learn the basics of knitting a hat in the round and how to read a color chart.

 Top Ten Tips and Tricks with Kristen                                          Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Friday, April 20th from 1:30 – 3:30
Advanced Beginner
Have you ever wondered how to change yarns during a project and have it look perfect? Would you like to sew pieces together seamlessly? And don’t forget picking up stitches evenly and not having it too tight or loose. I have 10 quick and easy ways to make knitting life easier, including a special cast on for ribbing. You might already know some, but come learn the others.



There’s never been a better time to learn how to knit. The fibers, patterns, and accessories are exquisite, and it just keeps growing in popularity. Let the experienced, patient teachers at Jessica Knits show you your knitting potential.

Knitting 101 – Beginning Knitting                                                            Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Friday, April 6th and 13th from 10:30 – 12:30 with Nancy or Tuesday, April 17th and 24th from 10:30 to 12:30 with Bev or Thursday, April 19th and 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 with Viki or Sunday, April 22nd and 29th from 12:30 – 2:30 with Kristen
In this class, you will learn the basics of knitting: casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off and get started on your first project.


We love crochet at Jessica Knits and Crochets! Whether you are just starting out, or you are an experienced crocheter, we’ll hook you up with the classes you want.

Beginning Crochet with Kristen                                                    Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Saturday, April 7th and 14th from 1:30 to 3:30
In this class, students will be introduced to the slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet and turning chains. At the end of the class you will be ready to tackle your first crochet project!

 Intermediate Crochet with Kristen                                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Saturday, April 28th from 10:30 to 12:30
You’ve got the basics down! Now it’s time to take your crochet skills to the next level! You will learn some advanced crochet stitches and learn how to read and follow a crochet pattern and chart.

 Cerro Crochet Tote with Sharann                                                 Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Friday, April 27th from 10:30 to 12:30
Built from the handles down, this multi-stitch, textured tote will become a useful addition to your beach or market bag collection.

Beading and Jewelry

Crystal Kumihimo Bracelet with Pam                                            Cost: $40 plus materials
Offered Saturday, April 14th from 10:30 – 1:30
This elegant bracelet will be a real “show stopper” when you wear it! People won’t believe that you made it! Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braid-making. Previous Kumihimo experience would be helpful but not necessary.

Stamped Metal Charm Necklace with Pam                                     Cost: $35 plus materials
Offered Saturday, April 28th from 1:30 – 3:30
These necklaces are super popular right now! You see them in all the fashion magazines. They are fast and fun to make and would make a perfect Mother’s Day gift!

Crochet Beaded Necklace with Kathy                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Thursday, April 5th from 1:30 to 3:30
You will learn to create a beautiful crochet beaded necklaces. Get started on them now for holiday gift giving. You will learn to work with crochet thread and beads. Prerequisite: must be able to crochet.



We don’t have any Felting classes scheduled for December.  Check back again after the 1st of the year.



Kids’ Knitting with Viki
Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Sunday, April 8th from 12:30 to 2:30
Learn the basics of knitting in this fun two-hour class: casting on, knitting and binding off, and get set up for your first project (a bracelet!).

Class Policies

Space is limited. Sign-ups close 48 hours prior to the first class. Entry into class after sign-ups have closed is at the discretion of the instructor.

Full payment is required to reserve a space in a class. If you are interested in taking an advanced class, please check the requirements and make sure you have the required skills necessary. A staff member can assist you in finding the perfect class. Private lessons are available for more individualized instruction. In order to give you proper attention, we ask that you book a private lesson if you require more than ten or fifteen minutes of personalized, one-on-one assistance with a project.  Unless otherwise noted, supplies and pattern costs are not included in the class fee. Copyrighted patterns for sale may not be copied or duplicated. Unless otherwise stated, all supplies for classes must be purchased at Jessica Knits & Crochets. Most supplies purchased specifically for your class at Jessica Knits and Crochets receive a 10% discount (some items are not eligible for the discount). May not be combined with other discounts or offers. 

Cancellation Policy

Class fees are refundable up to one (1) week prior to the first class. Class fees are transferable starting seven (7) days prior to the first class. Class fees are non-refundable within the 48 hour period prior to the first class. The Class Schedule is subject to change. Jessica Knits reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class. Students will be notified of all adjustments made to the schedule.
