Our classes offer you a chance to improve your skills, learn a new project, or even learn how to knit or crochet for the first time from experienced, friendly, and patient teachers. We put our class schedule together with your interests in mind, and we’re happy to hear from you about what classes you would like to see.

WORK WITH US                                                                             Cost: $15 per two-hour session
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 with Laurie and Sundays, from 2:30 to 4:30 with Kristen
Come sit at the table and get professional, personalized help on your individual projects. You must call to reserve your spot each week. .

Cost:  $35/hour
Did you know that Jessica Knits offers private instruction? Whether your schedule just doesn’t allow for you to take advantage of our class offerings, or you simply want some one-on-one attention, private lessons give you the flexibility to schedule lessons specifically suited to your needs. We can also pro-rate the hour if necessary, and discounted rates are available for semi-private lessons of two or more people. Ask for details and to arrange your private lesson.

Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Every Thursday night is Knit Night at Jessica Knits and Crochets. Come work on your project and meet new friends in the comfort of the best knit shop in town. The first Thursday of every month is designated as Charity Knit Night – everyone works on pieces for charity giving (we can supply you with ideas, or even supplies to work on that night). All of the other Thursdays in the month are open knit nights, where you can mingle while you work on your favorite Jessica Knits projects.

Zoe Tee KAL with Sharann                                                                       Cost: FREE (plus materials)

Friday Afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Join us for our Zoe Tee KAL by Cheri Christian beginning on the first Friday in June. Zoe Tee is a sweet little top-down sweater with simple lace on the front and sleeves. The lace insert is optional, if desired you can work the piece without lace for an easy anytime tee. Zoe is a great spring/summer go to top.

Technique Classes

Learn the Basics of Brioche with Nancy                                        Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Friday, June 1st from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, and have made several projects.
The structure of brioche is significantly different from familiar knit stitches. In this class you will see how the unique combination of stitches creates a deep, three-dimensional rib. You will start with one-color brioche before you move on to two-color brioche.    

The How and Why of Swatching with Bev                                      Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, June 5th from 10:30 to 12:30
Advanced Beginner
Most knitting patterns advise you to check your gauge before knitting the project. You will learn why a gauge swatch is important and how to knit a gauge swatch.

Oops! Now What? with Laurie                                                     Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Wednesday, June 6th from 10:30 –12:30
Advanced Beginner
We have all been there. That moment that we look at our work and there is something wrong! We panic! Now what? This class will teach you to recognize your mistakes and you will learn to fix them yourself with confidence!

Lapis Lace Techniques with Nancy                                                           Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, June 11th from 10:30 to 12:30
Advanced Beginner
Everyone loves Yumiko Alexander’s Lapis shawl but get intimidated by the lace patterns. In this class we will review the four different stitch patterns used in this beautiful shawl. When we are done you will be ready to start your own Lapis shawl with confidence!

Basic Entrelac Stitch with Nancy                                                 Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, June 11th from 1:30 to 3:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, and have made several projects.
Have you always wanted to learn about knitting entrelac stitches? This interesting style of knitting resembles a woven basket when complete. You will learn the basics of this stitch pattern that can be done in the round orknitted flat.

Privet Pullover with Laurie                                              Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Wednesday, June 13th and 27th from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, knitting in the round and have made several projects.
This is a cropped tee with elbow length sleeves, worked in an eyelet stripe pattern and can be made longer if you want. Privet is a great project for the advanced-beginning knitter looking to make a summer garment!

River Ripples with Laurie                                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Wednesday, June 20th from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner
This poncho is made by knitting a rectangle. Then you seam the Cast-On edge to part of the longer edge to make the shape of the Poncho. The drop stitch/cable pattern keeps it interesting, yet not too challenging.

Basynce Brioche Cowl with Kristen                                               Cost: $30 plus materials

Prerequisites: Must have taken the Learn the Basic of Brioche class with Nancy
This is the perfect project for taking your Brioche Knitting to the next level. This basic single syncopation brioche cowl will do just that! The best way to learn to brioche in the round is with 2 colors!

Top Ten Tips and Tricks with Kristen                                          Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Saturday, June 30th from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner
Have you ever wondered how to change yarns during a project and have it look perfect? Would you like to sew pieces together seamlessly? And don’t forget picking up stitches evenly and not having it too tight or loose. I have 10 quick and easy ways to make knitting life easier, including a special cast on for ribbing. You might already know some, but come learn the others.


There’s never been a better time to learn how to knit. The fibers, patterns, and accessories are exquisite, and it just keeps growing in popularity. Let the experienced, patient teachers at Jessica Knits show you your knitting potential.

Knitting 101 – Beginning Knitting                                                            Cost: $50 plus materials

In this class you will learn the basics of knitting: casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off, and get started on your first project.

Knitting 102 – Beyond Beginning Knitting with Bev                                    Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, June 26th and July 3rd from 10:30 – 12:30
Prerequisite: Must know how to knit and purl
This is the perfect class to take your newly learned knitting skills to the next level.



We love crochet at Jessica Knits and Crochets! Whether you are just starting out, or you are an experienced crocheter, we’ll hook you up with the classes you want.

Beginning Crochet with Kristen                                                    Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Saturday, June 9th and 16th from 10:30 to 12:30
In this class, students will be introduced to the slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet and turning chains.
At the end of the class you will be ready to tackle your first crochet project!

Intermediate Crochet with Kristen                                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Saturday, June 30th from 1:30 to 3:30
You’ve got the basics down! Now it’s time to take your crochet skills to the next level! You will learn some advanced crochet stitches and learn how to read and follow a crochet pattern and chart.

Advanced Beginner
New to crochet and want to take on your first real project? This little baby sweater is it! You will learn the basics of sweater construction in crochet while completing this adorable little sweater!

These leather wrap bracelets are so popular right now! You see them everywhere selling for $100 or more! You will learn how to make your very own! You might plan on buying an extra kit or two, because when your friends and family see what you have created they are all going to want one too!

Ndebele Flower Rope Bracelet with Pam Howard                            Cost: $40 plus materials
Offered Saturday, June 23rd from 1:30 to 4:00
The bead flowers add a delicate touch to this bracelet. The herringbone rope pattern is easy to learn and creates a beautiful piece of jewelry!


We don’t have any Felting classes scheduled for December.  Check back again after the 1st of the year.



Kids’ Knitting with Viki
Offered Sunday, June 24th  from 12:30 to 2:30
Learn the basics of knitting in this fun two-hour class: casting on, knitting and binding off, and get set up for your first project (a bracelet!).

Class Policies

Space is limited. Sign-ups close 48 hours prior to the first class. Entry into class after sign-ups have closed is at the discretion of the instructor.

Full payment is required to reserve a space in a class. If you are interested in taking an advanced class, please check the requirements and make sure you have the required skills necessary. A staff member can assist you in finding the perfect class. Private lessons are available for more individualized instruction. In order to give you proper attention, we ask that you book a private lesson if you require more than ten or fifteen minutes of personalized, one-on-one assistance with a project.  Unless otherwise noted, supplies and pattern costs are not included in the class fee. Copyrighted patterns for sale may not be copied or duplicated. Unless otherwise stated, all supplies for classes must be purchased at Jessica Knits & Crochets. Most supplies purchased specifically for your class at Jessica Knits and Crochets receive a 10% discount (some items are not eligible for the discount). May not be combined with other discounts or offers. 

Cancellation Policy

Class fees are refundable up to one (1) week prior to the first class. Class fees are transferable starting seven (7) days prior to the first class. Class fees are non-refundable within the 48 hour period prior to the first class. The Class Schedule is subject to change. Jessica Knits reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class. Students will be notified of all adjustments made to the schedule.
