Our classes offer you a chance to improve your skills, learn a new project, or even learn how to knit or crochet for the first time from experienced, friendly, and patient teachers. We put our class schedule together with your interests in mind, and we’re happy to hear from you about what classes you would like to see.
WORK WITH US Cost: $15 per two-hour session
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30, with Laurie, (no Work with Us on Wednesday, September 19th, and Sunday, from 2:30 to 4:30 with Kristen or Kathy.
Come sit at the table and get professional, personalized help on your individual projects. You must call to reserve your spot each week.
PRIVATE LESSONS AT JESSICA KNITS Cost: $35/hour
Did you know that Jessica Knits offers private instruction? Whether your schedule just doesn’t allow for you to take advantage of our class offerings, or you simply want some one-on-one attention, private lessons give you the flexibility to schedule lessons specifically suited to your needs. We can also pro-rate the hour if necessary, and discounted rates are available for semi-private lessons of two or more people. Ask for details and to arrange your private lesson.
KNIT NIGHT Cost: FREE
Thursday evenings, September 13th, 20th, 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night is Knit Night at Jessica Knits and Crochets. Come work on your project and meet new friends in the comfort of the best knit shop in town. Thursdays are open knit nights, where you can mingle while you work on your favorite Jessica Knits projects. We will not have a Charity Knit Night in September. The store will close at 4:30 pm on Thursday, September 6th.
Cameo KAL with Laurie Cost: FREE (plus materials) Monday Mornings from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. ’Cameo’ is a modern yet feminine shawl fun and fast to knit! It is knitted in a garter stitch with striped and lace sections added for color and texture. The simple picot border is worked together with the main body. ’Cameo’ can be knitted in any weight yarn to create different effects. The sections may be shortened or extended depending on yarn availability. The simple lace pattern is also charted and very easily worked into any number of row stitches. This shawl is truly easy to make, yet quite unusual and sure to attract attention!
Mira Tee KAL with Kathy Cost: FREE (plus materials)
Sunday Afternoons from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Mira Tee by Elizabeth Smith. Elizabeth’s open tee is a great layering piece for summer. The oversized shape and relaxed gauge aim for maximum drape, which is then compounded by eyelets and garter stitch. There’s very little shaping in this piece, making for a relaxing knit.
Building Blocks CAL with Sharann Cost: FREE (plus materials) Friday Mornings from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. This is going to be a great skill building CAL perfect next step for the beginning crocheter! Each week we will tackle a new crochet stitch pattern and create a square. At the end of the four weeks you will have learned four new pattern stitches and created four squares that can be sewn together to make a baby blanket or pillows!

Knitting 101 – Beginning Knitting Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, September 4th and 11th from 10:30 – 12:30 with Bev or Sunday, September 9th and 16th from 12:30 to 2:30 with Kristen or Thursday, September 20th and 27th from 6:00 – 8:00 with Viki
In this class you will learn the basics of knitting: casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off, and get started on your first project.
Knitting 102 – Beyond Beginning Knitting with Bev Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, September 18th and 25th from 10:30 – 12:30
Prerequisite: Must know how to knit and purl
This is the perfect class to take your newly learned knitting skills to the next level.
We love crochet at Jessica Knits and Crochets! Whether you are just starting out, or you are an experienced crocheter, we’ll hook you up with the classes you want.
Beginning Crochet with Kristen Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Saturday, September 8th and 15th from 10:30 to 12:30
In this class, students will be introduced to the slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet and turning chains.
At the end of the class you will be ready to tackle your first crochet project!
Intermediate Crochet with Kristen Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Saturday, September 29th from 10:30 to 12:30
You’ve got the basics down! Now it’s time to take your crochet skills to the next level! You will learn some advanced crochet stitches and learn how to read and follow a crochet pattern and chart.
Beading and Jewelry
Bling it Up Bracelet and Earrings with Pam Howard Cost: $40 plus materials
Offered Saturday, September 15th from 1:30 – 4:30
These glitzy earrings and bracelet set our fun and easy to make. They look like an expensive piece of jewelry when you are done! Perfect to dress up any outfit!
Basic Kumihimo Bracelet with Pam Howard Cost: $40 plus materials
Offered Saturday, September 22nd from 1:30 – 4:30
Japanese for “gathering threads,” Kumihimo is a form of braid making using a special foam loom. Come learn this increasingly popular technique with local specialist Pam Howard. You will create a stunning beaded bracelet!
Crochet Beaded Necklace with Kathy Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Thursday, September 20th from 1:30 to 3:30
You will learn to create these beautiful crochet beaded necklaces. Get started on them now for holiday gift giving. You will learn to work with crochet thread and beads. Prerequisite: must be able to crochet.
Space is limited. Sign-ups close 48 hours prior to the first class. Entry into class after sign-ups have closed is at the discretion of the instructor.
Full payment is required to reserve a space in a class. If you are interested in taking an advanced class, please check the requirements and make sure you have the required skills necessary. A staff member can assist you in finding the perfect class. Private lessons are available for more individualized instruction. In order to give you proper attention, we ask that you book a private lesson if you require more than ten or fifteen minutes of personalized, one-on-one assistance with a project. Unless otherwise noted, supplies and pattern costs are not included in the class fee. Copyrighted patterns for sale may not be copied or duplicated. Unless otherwise stated, all supplies for classes must be purchased at Jessica Knits & Crochets. Most supplies purchased specifically for your class at Jessica Knits and Crochets receive a 10% discount (some items are not eligible for the discount). May not be combined with other discounts or offers.
Class fees are refundable up to one (1) week prior to the first class. Class fees are transferable starting seven (7) days prior to the first class. Class fees are non-refundable within the 48 hour period prior to the first class. The Class Schedule is subject to change. Jessica Knits reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class. Students will be notified of all adjustments made to the schedule.
