Our classes offer you a chance to improve your skills, learn a new project, or even learn how to knit or crochet for the first time from experienced, friendly, and patient teachers. We put our class schedule together with your interests in mind, and we’re happy to hear from you about what classes you would like to see.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 with Laurie and Sunday, February 11th, 18th, and 25th from 2:30 – 4:30 with Kristen
Come sit at the table and get professional, personalized help on your individual projects. You must call to reserve your spot each week.

Cost:  $35/hour
Did you know that Jessica Knits offers private instruction? Whether your schedule just doesn’t allow for you to take advantage of our class offerings, or you simply want some one-on-one attention, private lessons give you the flexibility to schedule lessons specifically suited to your needs. We can also pro-rate the hour if necessary, and discounted rates are available for semi-private lessons of two or more people. Ask for details and to arrange your private lesson.

Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Every Thursday night is Knit Night at Jessica Knits and Crochets. Come work on your project and meet new friends in the comfort of the best knit shop in town. The first Thursday of every month is designated as Charity Knit Night – everyone works on pieces for charity giving (we can supply you with ideas, or even supplies to work on that night). All of the other Thursdays in the month are open knit nights, where you can mingle while you work on your favorite Jessica Knits projects.

Introduction to Knitting with Bev                                                Cost: FREE
Sunday afternoons February 11th and 25th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Bev is offering an intro to knitting Workshop on the specified Sundays for the month of February from 12:00 – 2:00. If you have wanted to try knitting but were not sure whether or not you were going to like it enough to invest in a class, this free workshop is for you! You will have an opportunity to sit down and give knitting a try without having to purchase a thing!   By the end of the session you think that you would like to learn more, you can sign up for a Knitting 101 class! This is a great way to “test the waters” without a huge commitment of time and money.

.Learn Intarsia Sweetheart Cup Cozy with Nancy                            Cost: $20 (Includes Kit and Pattern)
Offered Monday, February 5th from 10:30 to 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Prerequisites: Must know how to knit and purl and have made several projects.
If you’re new to Intarsia, this is a very simple project that will help you master the technique. This Sweetheart Cup Cozy is the perfect gift to give yourself or your favorite Valentine.

 Lavender Sachet with Laurie                                                        Cost: $20 (includes Kit and Pattern)
Offered Monday, February 5th from 1:30 – 3:30
These lovely little Lavender Sachets are a quick and thoughtful gift. They make great teacher and co-worker gifts. You will learn a picot edge, how to do a three needle bindoff and how to make and i-cord.

Oops! Now What? with Laurie                                                     Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, February 6th from 10:30 –12:30
Advanced Beginner
We have all been there. That moment that we look at our work and there is something wrong! We panic! Now what? This class will teach you to recognize your mistakes and you will learn to fix them yourself with confidence!

Sweetheart Cowl with Nancy                                                       Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Friday, February 9th from 1:30 to 3:30
Advanced Beginner, must know how to knit in the round – Homework
The cowl is begun with a provisional cast on. Then, a chart is provided for stranded color knit in the round until you reach the desired length for your cowl. The ends of the cowl are then grafted together with a Kitchener stitch. This cowl is easy to customize for a wider or longer look, just by adding repeats of the pattern on each row or by knitting until the cowl reaches a longer length.

Knitting in the Round with Laurie                                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, February 12th from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, knitting in the round and have made several projects.
Sometimes knitting in the round, especially in small circumferences can be tricky. Did you know that there are several methods that can be used? Which method is best? In this workshop you will learn three different techniques for knitting in the round: with double pointed needles (dpns), with one long circular needle and with two circular needles. Follow our simple step-by-step instructions and you will be casting on and knitting in the round in no time.

Increasing and Decreasing, Your Options with Laurie                     Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, February 12th from 1:30 – 3:30
Advanced Beginner
Increases and decreases in knitting mean that you can shape your work and create shapes other than squares and rectangles. Four plain rectangles can be sewn together to make a perfectly serviceable covering for your upper body and arms. Most of us, however, prefer our garments to bear some relationship to the shape of the body underneath. Producing such garments requires a working understanding of increases and decreases. In this class we will learn and practice different types of increases and decreases. 

 Felted Roses and Leaves with Viki                                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Sunday, February 18th from 12:30 – 2:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, and have made several projects.
You will learn the basics of felting while creating this special flower! They are perfect to add to a hat, a sweater, a felted bag or even wear in your hair! The “blooms” can be made larger or smaller by using different weight wools and needle sizes.

Etched Rio Wrap with Laurie                                                        Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, February 19th from 10:30 to 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Must be comfortable with knitting and purling, and have made several projects.
With a swing and fluidity reminiscent of woven fabric, this breathtaking wrap will easily become your favorite accessory. Effortless to wear, a simple lace panel is all this piece requires to be a soothing, intriguing knit.

Short Row Shaping with Laurie                                                    Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, February 19th from 1:30 – 3:30
Advanced Beginner
Many knitters run away screaming when they hear “short-row shaping”; for some reason, there’s a rumor circulating that you need an advanced degree in order to do it. Not so! If you can count, slip a stitch and work two stitches together, you can do this. Short rows are one of the best ways to add dimension to knitting, perfect for creating everything from curved Sock heels to set in sleeve or even bust darts. Learn a three common techniques for short row shaping and when to use them (Wrap and Turn, German, and Japanese).

Something last minute that you can make for either a gift or for yourself! It’s been cool, so having that tiny bit of warmth caressing your neck certainly feels cozy or make them out of cotton or linen for a great summer accessory piece!

Secrets of Pattern Reading with Laurie                                         Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, February 26th from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner
So, you have picked out a new project and purchased your yarn. You are excited to start knitting. But are you really ready to start the project? Do you understand the pattern directions? In this class you will learn the special language of knitting, which uses many abbreviations and terms, which save space and make patterns easier to read.


There’s never been a better time to learn how to knit. The fibers, patterns, and accessories are exquisite, and it just keeps growing in popularity. Let the experienced, patient teachers at Jessica Knits show you your knitting potential.

Knitting 101 – Beginning Knitting
Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Friday, February 2nd and 9th from 10:30 to 12:30 with Nancy or Thursday, February 8th and 15th from 6:00 – 8:00 with Viki or Tuesday, February 13th and 20th from 10:30 to 12:30 with Bev or Saturday, February 17th and 24th from 1:30 – 3:30 with Kristen
In this class, you will learn the basics of knitting: casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off and get started on your first project.

Knitting 102 – Beyond Beginning Knitting with Bev                                    Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, February 27th and March 6th from 10:30 – 12:30
Prerequisite: Must have taken the Knitting 101 Beginning Knitting class
This is the perfect class to take your newly learned knitting skills to the next level.


We love crochet at Jessica Knits and Crochets! Whether you are just starting out, or you are an experienced crocheter, we’ll hook you up with the classes you want.

Beginning Crochet with Kristen                                                    Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Saturday, February 3rd and 10th  from 1:30 to 3:30
Learn the basics of crochet in this two-hour class. Students will be introduced to the slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet and turning chains.
At the end of the class you will be ready to tackle your first crochet project! 

Intermediate Crochet with Kristen                                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Saturday, February 3rd from 10:30 to 12:30
You’ve got the basics down! Now it’s time to take your crochet skills to the next level! You will learn some advanced crochet stitches and learn how to read and follow a crochet pattern and chart.

Offered Friday, February 16th from 10:30 to 12:30
This oversized, boxy top is crocheted from two identical, unconventionally shaped pieces that are folded to create the garment halves.

Offered Thursday, February 8th from 1:30 to 3:30
You will learn to create beautiful crochet beaded necklaces. Get started on them now for holiday gift giving. You will learn to work with crochet thread and beads. Prerequisite: must be able to crochet.

Bollywood Macrame Bracelet with Pam                                         Cost: $35 plus materials
Offered Saturday, February 17th from 10:30 to 12:30
This is not the macramé that we all knew from the 70’s! These bracelets are beautiful, fun and trendy. You will want to make several and layer them up or make a bunch for gifts! After all, the Holidays are only 5 months away!

Earrings! You Choose! with Pam                                                  Cost: $40 plus materials
Offered Thursday, February 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00
Pam never disappoints us with her class selections! This class offers you a choice of three different styles of earrings! Beaded, Pearls and Metal! Make one or all three!



We don’t have any Felting classes scheduled for December.  Check back again after the 1st of the year.



Kids’ Knitting with Viki
Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Sunday, February 25th from 12:30 to 2:30
Learn the basics of knitting in this fun two-hour class: casting on, knitting and binding off, and get set up for your first project (a bracelet!).

Class Policies

Space is limited. Sign-ups close 48 hours prior to the first class. Entry into class after sign-ups have closed is at the discretion of the instructor.

Full payment is required to reserve a space in a class. If you are interested in taking an advanced class, please check the requirements and make sure you have the required skills necessary. A staff member can assist you in finding the perfect class. Private lessons are available for more individualized instruction. In order to give you proper attention, we ask that you book a private lesson if you require more than ten or fifteen minutes of personalized, one-on-one assistance with a project.  Unless otherwise noted, supplies and pattern costs are not included in the class fee. Copyrighted patterns for sale may not be copied or duplicated. Unless otherwise stated, all supplies for classes must be purchased at Jessica Knits & Crochets. Most supplies purchased specifically for your class at Jessica Knits and Crochets receive a 10% discount (some items are not eligible for the discount). May not be combined with other discounts or offers. 

Cancellation Policy

Class fees are refundable up to one (1) week prior to the first class. Class fees are transferable starting seven (7) days prior to the first class. Class fees are non-refundable within the 48 hour period prior to the first class. The Class Schedule is subject to change. Jessica Knits reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class. Students will be notified of all adjustments made to the schedule.
