Our classes offer you a chance to improve your skills, learn a new project, or even learn how to knit or crochet for the first time from experienced, friendly, and patient teachers. We put our class schedule together with your interests in mind, and we’re happy to hear from you about what classes you would like to see.

Offered on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 AND Fridays from 1:30 to 3:30
Come sit at the table and get professional, personalized help on your individual projects. Simply call to reserve your spot each week.

Cost:  $35/hour
Did you know that Jessica Knits offers private instruction? Whether your schedule just doesn’t allow for you to take advantage of our class offerings, or you simply want some one-on-one attention, private lessons give you the flexibility to schedule lessons specifically suited to your needs. We can also pro-rate the hour if necessary, and discounted rates are available for semi-private lessons of two or more people. Ask for details and to arrange your private lesson.

Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Every Thursday night is Knit Night at Jessica Knits and Crochets. Come work on your project and meet new friends in the comfort of the best knit shop in town. The first Thursday of every month is designated as Charity Knit Night – everyone works on pieces for charity giving (we can supply you with ideas, or even supplies to work on that night). All of the other Thursdays in the month are open knit nights, where you can mingle while you work on your favorite Jessica Knits projects.



Pattern Reading with Laurie                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, June 5th from 10:30 to 12:30 or Tuesday, June 20th from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner
Does starting a project intimidate you? Does reading patterns seem like reading something in another language? This class will assist you in understanding pattern directions, abbreviations and how to read between the lines (literally!) We will discuss pattern “repeats”, charts, rows and keeping track of where you are in a pattern.

Finishing Techniques with Cathrine                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Tuesday, June 6th from 10:30 to 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Homework
Have you been afraid to tackle sewing your garment together because you just weren’t sure where to begin? This class takes the mystery out of finishing. Learn the proper stitches to use and practice them in class. We’ll cover blocking, pinning, seaming, picking up stitches, the three-needle bind off and Kitchener stitch.

Knitting Tricks & Tips with Nancy                                 Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Saturday, June 10th from 1:30 to 3:30
Advanced Beginner
Have you ever wondered how to change yarns during a project and not have a change in your tension or create a hole? How about simplifying joining your work in the round? And don’t forget picking up stitches and not having it too tight or loose.   And a special cast on for ribbing. I have 10 quick and easy ways to make knitting life easier, including weaving in your ends so they stay put. You may think you know them all, but you can always learn something new!

Two-Color Brioche with Cathrine                                 Cost: $35 plus materials
Offered Saturday, June 24th from 10:30 to 1:00
Advanced Intermediate – Prerequisites: Must understand how to “read” your knitting and have made many different projects. Must know how to knit in the round.
Beginning with the traditional Brioche stitch in the round, we will transition to two-color Brioche and leave you with the skills to begin your very own Brioche cowl. The Brioche stitch is a whole new “language” in knitting, so bring your thinking skills!

Socks on 2 Circular Needles or Magic Loop with Cathrine   Cost: $50 plus materials
Offered Wednesday, June 21st and 28th from 10:30 to 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Prerequisites: Must know how to knit and purl and have made several projects
By making a small sock, you will learn all the steps necessary to begin your sock-making obsession! Learn to use circular needles instead of double points and make the process so much easier.

Fixing Mistakes with Cathrine                                         Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Monday, June 26th from 1:30 to 3:30
Advanced Beginner – Homework
Learn how to fix the kind of simple knitting mistakes we all make now and then. Techniques learned include picking up dropped stitches, unknitting, creating lifelines, and reading your work. You’ll also receive tips on avoiding mistakes in the first place.

Knitting 101 – Beginning Knitting                                                            Cost: $50 plus materials

In this class, you will learn the basics of knitting: casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off and get started on your first project.



Lean to the Left Market Bag with Nancy                                       Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Saturday, June 3rd from 10:30 – 12:30
Advanced Beginner – Prerequisites: Must know how to knit and purl and have completed several projects.
This is just one of four patterns included in the Market Bag Collection by Kate D’Ettore. These are great re-usable market bags that you will love to carry with you whenever you are going to the Farmer’s Market! The Lean to the Left bag is a simple two row pattern with a leftward leaning spiral look.

Washcloth or Baby Blanket with Viki                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Sunday, June 11th from 12:30 to 2:30 or Thursday, June 15th from 6:00 to 8:00
Advanced Beginner
This can be your first project! You can practice on the washcloth and then make a beautiful picot edge baby blanket! You will learn several new skills such as reading a pattern, a knitted cast on, increases and decreases.

Advanced Beginner
This is a great first Top Down Girl’s Tunic sweater for your 1st sweater project! Everything you need to learn to accomplish this adorable baby sweater is done in class.

Advanced Beginner – Prerequisites Must be comfortable with knitting and purling and have made several projects.
This adorable baby sweater is perfect for warmer weather in cotton yarn from Classic Elite. Beginning at the yoke, learn to follow a lace chart, then complete this top down sweater in no time!

Building in Color and Building Blocks, Monday, June 19th from 1:30 to 3:30 with Bev
This series of classes will introduce you to the wonderful array of stitches and techniques each month to help you further your knitting skills. The sequential approach allows mastery of skills which then build upon each other in subsequent patterns. Each panel is then assembled into a beautiful blanket to become a cuddly favorite or gift for someone special.



We love crochet at Jessica Knits and Crochets! Whether you are just starting out, or you are an experienced crocheter, we’ll hook you up with the classes you want.

Beginning Crochet with Cathrine                                                  Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Wednesday, June 7th from 10:30 to 12:30 or Saturday, June 24th from 1:30 – 3:30
Learn the basics of crochet in this, two-hour class. Students will be introduced to the slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet and turning chains.
At the end of the class you will be ready to tackle your first crochet project!

Intermediate Crochet with Cathrine                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Friday, May 30th from 10:30 to 12:30
Take your crochet skills to the next level! You will learn to read a pattern, written and charted.

Beading and Jewelry

Crochet Beaded Necklace with Kathy                                            Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Thursday, June 8th from 1:30 to 3:30 or Thursday, June 29th from 1:30 – 3:30
You will learn to create these beautiful crochet beaded necklaces. Get started on them now for holiday gift giving. You will learn to work with crochet thread and beads. Prerequisite: must be able to crochet.

Kids’ Knitting with Viki                                                              Cost: $30 plus materials
Offered Sunday, June 25th from 12:30 to 2:30
Learn the basics of knitting in this fun two-hour class: casting on, knitting and binding off, and get set up for your first project (a bracelet!).


Class Policies

Space is limited. Sign-ups close 48 hours prior to the first class. Entry into class after sign-ups have closed is at the discretion of the instructor.

Full payment is required to reserve a space in a class. If you are interested in taking an advanced class, please check the requirements and make sure you have the required skills necessary. A staff member can assist you in finding the perfect class. Private lessons are available for more individualized instruction. In order to give you proper attention, we ask that you book a private lesson if you require more than ten or fifteen minutes of personalized, one-on-one assistance with a project.  Unless otherwise noted, supplies and pattern costs are not included in the class fee. Copyrighted patterns for sale may not be copied or duplicated. Unless otherwise stated, all supplies for classes must be purchased at Jessica Knits & Crochets. Most supplies purchased specifically for your class at Jessica Knits and Crochets receive a 10% discount (some items are not eligible for the discount). May not be combined with other discounts or offers. 

Cancellation Policy

Class fees are refundable up to one (1) week prior to the first class. Class fees are transferable starting seven (7) days prior to the first class. Class fees are non-refundable within the 48 hour period prior to the first class. The Class Schedule is subject to change. Jessica Knits reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class. Students will be notified of all adjustments made to the schedule.
