We celebrated World Wide Knit in Public Day in style at JKnits & Crochets. The day began by “yarn bombing” the light post in front of the shop. The world should truly be covered in yarn – the post looks a lot happier! Then we met at Paradise Valley Mall for a Knit in Public gathering. By knitting and crocheting in public, we let everyone know that these great skills are back and better than ever. Do you know someone who knits or crochets? Tell them about our shop. And we all know people who don’t knit or crochet. Isn’t it time we spread the love? Tell them about JKnits & Crochets great beginner classes. We’ll get them on board!

We also have a new community board by our exclusive coffee bar. You’ll find recent customer projects, current events, upcoming festivities and more on this fun, informative bulletin board. Show us a recent project made out of our yarn and we’ll feature you on the board. Or just check it out while helping yourself to a goodie and coffee and get inspired.

Evening with Ysolda Teague

It was a “Tuesday Treat” for the crowd that gathered to see popular knitwear designer Ysolda Teague at Jessica Knits. Amidst samples of her beautiful garments, Ysolda signed books and told stories with her sweet, barely-there Scottish accent.

Among the garments on display were three sizes of sweaters from Ysolda’s book Little Red in the City, a collection of flattering designs for all body types. Jessica Knits is proud to be offering a class in which you learn how to create Ysolda’s Cria  sweater pattern, a flattering top-down garment fitted to your exact proportions. The class is being taught by Cathrine, and begins March 1^st, so sign up now as space is limited.

Jessica Knits is happy to offer pre-orders on Ysolda’s latest book, Saturday Treat, featuring new designs using the new Lantern Moon Scrumptious yarn from Fyberspates (available locally only at Jessica Knits!). The silk/wool blends of these yarns are spectacular and the pattern support provides something for everyone.
